I hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day!  The party was absolutely fabulous.  Thank you for coming and making it so special.  On the cookie sales sheet, the delivery date will be changed.  Cookies will be delivered the week of May 24. 

If you have chosen to buy cookies, please turn the forms in no later than May 10. 

Ask Your Child:

  • To tell you at least 1 person who stole the cookie this week.

Another great week has flown by!!!  We are continuing to learn economics:  wants, needs, giving, saving, etc. 

Ask your Child:

  • What do the caterpillars look like now?
  • What does the word metamorphosis mean? (hint: think of the song, “…it’s a word for ____” 
  • Metamorphosis: A tadpole will become a _________, a caterpillar will become a ________; a Kindergartener will become a ________.
  • What is a caterpillars main job? Why? (answer: to eat)
  • What is the first thing a caterpillar eats? (answer: its shell)
  • To tell a time they were scared to death, but had courage and saddled up anyway?

It has been a wonderful week.  We are continuing to learn the “Pledge of Allegiance” in sign language.  (You will see this at graduation.)  We are also working hard for the Mother’s Day Tea on May 5.

Ask Your Child:

  • What descriptive word can you use to describe Veruca Salt? (hint: is she kind or spoiled?)
  • What happened when Veruca Salt tried to catch a squirrel? Was she a good or bad nut?
  • What are 3 ways a seed can travel. (hint: think of the video we watched…the coconut, bur, “helicopter” seed from the maple tree)
  • What does the word integrity mean? What is an example of somebody showing integrity and somebody who does not? (hint:  “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”)

  • End of the Year Party/Graduation: Wednesday June 2 at 2:15. Please return the form giving us an estimated head count so we will have an idea of how to set up.

***Answer: My first parakeet was named "Duffy" andmy second was "Snowy".  Duffy was trained to fly from my finger, across the room, and land on my dad's finger!

What a wonderful week it has been!  The sun is shining, flowers are blooming…Wahoo!

Ask Your Child:

  • To describe how they made their flowers for the bulletin board.

Everyone is doing such a wonderful job on their reports!  To think that these kiddos are only in kindergarten and are willing to get up in front of others and teach us what they learned.  Amazing!

Ask your child:

  • What are 2 foods that mountain goats eat? (Colt) answer:  moss and grass
  • What do Pegasus’ have that unicorns do not? (Trinity) answer: wings
